MonteRé extra large dried plums are the most natural way to enjoy a succulent fruit that is picked and simply dehydrated. Thanks to the stone in the fruit, the product is enriched by the almond aroma provided by the seed contained in the stone.
The cultivation of plums for drying takes place in highly specialized facilities that favor large distances between one plant and another, in order to allow optimal use of light and sun. MonteRé technicians follow all the phases of the life of the plum grove/orchard, from the planting of the seedlings to the harvest, which takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. Subsequently, the freshly picked plums are transported to the drying center where they are washed and arranged on overlapping trays placed on trolleys. They are then placed in drying tunnels where they are dehydrated at a controlled temperature. A process that has an average duration of about 30 hours: to obtain 1 kg of dried plums, 3 kg of fresh plums are needed. Once drying is complete, the fruits are stored in suitable warehouses and subsequently calibrated and sorted by specialized personnel while waiting to be packaged.
